Established in May 1995 as a telecommunication operator, Camintel S.A,
a Société Anonyme, can make yesterday’s technology
compatible for today’s business needs that tend to increase continuously.
It is the first ever joint stock company between INDOSAT (Indonesian Satellite
Corporation Tbk.) holding its shares 49% against 51% and Government named
as MPTC. By October, 2005, joint venture between INDOSAT and MPTC ended
up with selling their share by Indonesian side to vital Cambodian investor,
AZ Communications Co, Ltd, compelling Camintel to become a net Cambodian
Partnership Telecommunication Company serving a nationwide coverage with
myriad of telecommunication services such as Fixed Phone—main service,
Internet/E-mail, Leased Line, Public Phone, Pre-paid Calling Card and
Pre-paid Internet Card and ranked as the first leading fixed phone player
in all provinces.
To be Cambodia’s best communication group by maximizing customers’
satisfaction and delivering sustainable returns for the shareholders.
Providing convenient and reliable telecommunication services, continuously
improving our processes, creating more value added services and exceptionally
working to meet our customers’ needs and demands.
There are two important systems in designing the telecommunication network—Switching
System considered as the heard and Transmission System as the vein or
distributor of traffic. Camintel network covers 2 cities and 18 provinces
in Cambodia, which are divided into 23 branches. We have overcome the
accessibility problem by using a combination of transmission systems,
Satellite, Fiber Optics and Microwave, in our network. We use redundant
configuration according to then needs of the market being targeted and
to avoid downtimes and ensures the reliability of an uninterrupted transmission
data. It is more efficient than the system where all calls are processed
in one switching system in Phnom Penh. We aim to connect people from all
locations in Cambodia to the rest of the world.
